End Date

In hours, how much time did you volunteer?
3 hours
Describe your volunteer activities in detail.
At Huntington Beach we walked around in the sand near the ocean and picked up all the trash that we could in 3 hours. There was a lot of plastic food trash and styrofoam covered with sand.
What were your accomplishments?
We accomplished picking up a lot of trash. Therefore, we helped make Huntington Beach much cleaner and naturally beautiful.
What did you learn?
I learned that it takes a lot of effort to clean up areas in the environment to make them be healthy and beautiful. Although it might not have looked at first glance like there was a lot of trash at the beach, there actually was a lot for us to pick up that was hidden in the sand and stuck in seaweed. People need to start making a point of protecting, preserving, and cleaning up the natural environment so places like this beach can be beautiful natural environments for people to enjoy.
