Step 1: Know Your Stuff

Which sustainability component will your lesson focus on?
My lesson focuses mainly on waste management; which includes composting, recycling, and landfill wastes. This lesson ensures that all wastes are disposed properly, enabling a more sustainable future.
What related problem/issue will you present?
The related issue that will be presented is mainly the fact that most people in society are uninformed about the proper way to dispose of their wastes. So this lesson helps students get a better understanding and be informed correctly.
What supporting facts characterize the problem?
Supporting facts that characterize the problem include the percent of landfill wastes that have increased significantly, because people are unaware of what they are able to recycle or compost. Also the fact that more and more plastic products such as bags, or water bottles are being produced every year because a majority of the population do not recycle their products.
What solution will you offer?
The solution I will offer is informing students how to assort their waste correctly, and help make a smaller ecological footprint by reducing the incorrect wastes they place in landfills.
What action or actions do you want people to take as a result of your lesson?
Actions people should take as a result of this lesson is to be able to properly identify which waste they should place in landfills, recycle, or compost. Also, they should encourage their friends or family to take the same actions.
Please attach any supporting audio, video, images, files, blogs, links, graphs or other related to the problem or your solution?
