On Earth day we started with showing the kids our hook. Our hook was showing how much High Fructose Corn Syrup was in a can of soda. The kids seemed to really grasp onto that disturbing fact. We then had a game where kids were given a food that had to figure out if it contained high fructose corn syrup or not. The kids were surprised that some of the food like Oatmeal bars were not as healthy as they thought. To wrap up our presentation we told the kids that consuming too much corn syrup can lead to diseases and obesity. I think the kids really understood what this ingredient was doing to their bodies. I hope that we really got to them and wanted the idea to travel with them.

i think to improve our presentation we could have more visuals because the kids seem to understand better when their are pictures or signs. Another thing I would suggest is using easier words. Some kids are not going to know some of the harder words and if you don't have time to explain that forget about it.
