My Earth Day project was focused around informing students about their ecological footprint. My group and I started off with a brief activity. In this activity we had each student grab a handful of legos and build a structure in two minutes. At the end my group and I explained how these legos represented natural resources, we went on to explain how natural resources are being degraded and how we can save them. My group and I concluded with an activity in which each student traced their foot and decorated it along with writing one word as to how they can reduce their ecological footprint.

I found this project to be very successful. There are though to things that I feel could greatly improve the quality of the project. One, I feel that the legos served as a distraction, therefore, right after the first activity is over, someone in the group must take the legos to allow the students 100% focus. Secondly, I feel that my group and I were pressed for time, but that was out of my group's control.

My lesson will focus on reducing ones ecological footprint. Through this project students will be able to understand there impact on the earth and be able to help make change in there everyday lives to better utilize the earth.

Related problems that I will present will be methods to better conserve our natural resources. As well as provide insight into renewable energy resources in which we can use into the future. Through this the lesson will provide this information through two activities.

Supporting facts that will characterize the problem are world consumption statistics, in addition to a myriad number of recycling and reusing techniques, to allow the students to better understand the information.

The solution that I will offer will be facile methods in which the students can utilize in their lives to make positive strides toward lessen their ecological footprint.

I would like that the students take away a deep understanding of world conservation and the simple steps we can take to creating a better the world that we all share.
