An area called Bayview park has long since lost its natural vegetation and this volunteer organization set out to recreate the area's natural plant life. What volunteer activity do you plan on participating in?
I did volunteer work for the Second Sundays at the Bay volunteer organization.
Where is the volunteer location?
Bayview Park, Newport's back bay.
When will this activity occur?
This volunteer work occured on February 13, 2011.
What will be your responsibilities?
I helped recreate an area in Newport called Bayview park, Newport's back bay. I planted plants, such as cactus, native to the area that had been lost. In addition to this, I was sent to water the newly planted plants and weed the surrounding area.
Who will be supervisor signing off on your volunteer hours?
The supervisor's name was Sue Staffel, one of the managers of the Second Sundays volunteer organization.
How many hours total do you anticipate participating in this volunteer activity?
The activity was 3 hours.
What do you hope to accomplish?
I hoped to help recreate an area that had lost its natural beauty in order to restablish its plant and wildlife in the area in the hopes that it would remain that way for years. I believe I made a generous contribution to the cause and helped replant the Bayview park with its native vegitation.

Greentorch photoluminescent exit signs help the environment by using no electricity, no batteries, and last longer than other self-luminous exit signs. Gambassa's "Energy efficiency and exit signs" project curriculum teaches students how to generate income by using available utility retrofit rebate programs to replace incandescent exit signs.
