Describe your volunteer activities in detail.
During the temescal clean up, my group , David, Cailin, Jamie and myself wandered through the grounds of the wash and located trash. With the intent of cleaning up the environment, I rapidly picked up every trash piece in sight. Plowing through the area I picked up everything I could.
What were your accomplishments?
My accomplishments during the wash were the fact that I got to feel good about leaving the area knowing that I worked hard to clean up the environment. One of the biggest achievements that I was able to accomplish was the fact that I found a large truck tire. I felt accomplished that I was able to help mother nature rid itself of this splinter.
What did you learn?
I learned from the project that the earth is a very fragile place. We as humans which inhabit the earth must come together to help preserve and protect the earth from our own trash. I also learned that as a group we could make efforts towards a world wide movement. As we slowly begin to spread the word of environmental care, people will slowly catch on. I also learned that even if its not our own waste, we have the responsibility to help one another preserve the earth.

Other Notes
Together as a class, we were able to unite into a strong team that could help in the fight against environmental pollution.

Greentorch photoluminescent exit signs help the environment by using no electricity, no batteries, and last longer than other self-luminous exit signs. Gambassa's "Energy efficiency and exit signs" project curriculum teaches students how to generate income by using available utility retrofit rebate programs to replace incandescent exit signs. Earn while you learn.
