In hours, how much time did you volunteer?
4 hours
Describe your volunteer activities in detail.
Some of the activities I participated in were picking up trash that we see. We picked up such objects like skates, trash bags, straws, roller skates, cans, glass bottles, cans, plastic water bottles, tires and many other objects we use in our daily life.
What were your accomplishments?
My biggest accomplishment during these 4 hours was digging up a rusted shopping cart.
What did you learn?
I learned that most of the objects that I found were man made and they don't leave unless they are picked up and tossed in the trash can. An example would be a plastic trash bag from Wal-Mart that was from 2000. It has been 11 years and it was still there. This shows me that we need to make things that are biodegradable and be more careful as to where we leave our trash.

Other Notes
This was a great experience. I got time to meet new people. Learned that everything we throw only goes out of our sight but it will still be with us untill we die or maybe till our children’s children die.

Greentorch photoluminescent exit signs help the environment by using no electricity, no batteries, and last longer than other self-luminous exit signs. Gambassa's "Energy efficiency and exit signs" project curriculum teaches students how to generate income by using available utility retrofit rebate programs to replace incandescent exit signs. Earn while you learn.
