Describe your volunteer activities in detail.
As me, Maranda and Angela arrived to the Temescal Wash; we were very excited. We turned in our papers and got shirts, a trash bag and some gloves. They had some donuts and coffee for us to start off our day then gave us an intro of what they wanted us to do. We were supposed to collect any item that we can manage to get but if there was something too heavy, we were supposed to get help. Everybody went off to their seperate ways and started picking up trash with their own group. Through out the day we got to pick up three whole bags, each full of different things we found and also managed to get a cart. We were so proud of ourselves, each time we looked back we found the area getting more and more clean. By the end of the day we got treated with pizza, drinks and bags full of things for us; then got ready to go home.
What were your accomplishments?
My accomplishment was that I got to do something with our issues we are facing now in the world today and made a change. Even though it wasn't a huge difference, but little is better than nothing.
What did you learn?
I learned that if we get to set our goal to make a change and manage to do something for the earth, we can fight the global warming and save many living and non living things on the planet; just if we use some effort in what we put in.
