Describe your volunteer activities in detail.
I arrived around 7:40am and turned in my paper work. I energized myself with some donuts and water before I embarked on my journey into the wilderness. In a small amount of time I had filled 2 trashbags full of trash by myself. Later, I spotted Natalia and Danny Chang and decided to join them in the trash picking. We ended up going pretty deep into some plants and managed to pick up a blanket dug deep into the dirt. After multiple bags and a couple of falling we were asked by some boy to help him pick up a shopping cart. Bringing back the cart was no fun. By the time we finally reached the rest station, we were drenched in sweat. By then it was 10:50 and we decided to go deeper just before lunch. Turns out that right when we left everyone started to eat pizza and took pictures. In our absense, we held limbo competitions, climbed trees, and of course, picked up trash. When we came back to the empty station, we we engulfed into the pizza. Then we departed and headed to Natalia's house to finish our timeline assignment.
What were your accomplishments?
We were able to extricate an abundant amount of trash along with some unidentifiable objects which some included of shopping carts.
What did you learn?
I learned the large amount of littering that has mainly affected the washes in our community. I was also able to witness the beauty of nature and the adventures we are able to enjoy from it rather than playing video games.

Greentorch photoluminescent exit signs help the environment by using no electricity, no batteries, and last longer than other self-luminous exit signs. Gambassa's "Energy efficiency and exit signs" project curriculum teaches students how to generate income by using available utility retrofit rebate programs to replace incandescent exit signs.
