Which sustainability component will your lesson focus on?
We focused on eating healthier and conserving energy from not producing corn. Creating corn for most of our food costs an arm and leg and takes up alot energy. People can fix this and how we can fix is by not producing or consuming it.
What related problem/issue will you present?
We presented the problem of consuming High fructose Corn syrup and how bad it can be for someones body. It is sweeter than real sugar and if people eat to much of it it can lead to heart disease and eventually could turn into obesity.
What supporting facts characterize the problem?
We used facts like it takes a lot of energy to create. The crops are never rotated so the land is depleted after the corn is grown. High Fructose Corn Syrup is used instead or in addition to sugar to make foods even more sweet Can you imagine how bad that is?
What solution will you offer?
They solutions we have to offer are instead of drinking juices that have high fructose corn syrup in it someone could drink milk or water. Drinking less soda is also a big solution seeing as there is 1/4 cup of HFCS in one can of soda.
What action or actions do you want people to take as a result of your lesson?
I want people to realize that this is a bigger issue than its played out to be! we want kids to tell their parents and have their buy healthier foods and not risk diseases or obesity. We really hope the kids learned an ample amount of circumstances.
