Describe (in detail) what you presented on EARTH Day. Be sure to describe your "hook," your activity, and your "wrap up" in enough detail that next year's groups will be able to use it and improve upon it.
HOOK: How many caps do you think are in this bottle? *hold up container full of bottle caps* let the kids guess then tell them. FACT: 40 million bottles go into landfills every day *Take current information that your group has found and share that information with the kids *Provide pictures for the kids to look at *Take the bottom halves of water bottles(cut before the day of presentation) and hand one to each student, then allow them to take a small handful of compost and a small handfull of planting soil and then place a seed in the soil. Water. *Let the students ask questions for the wrap up. Items Needed: *Water bottles *Example of soda bottle plants *Seeds *Planting soil *Compost *Water sprayer w/ water *Anything else you think is necessary
