Describe (in detail) what you presented on EARTH Day. Be sure to describe your "hook," your activity, and your "wrap up" in enough detail that next year's groups will be able to use it and improve upon it.
What I presented on Earth Day was the problems of overusing the landfills and the lack of recycling and reusing that can lower air pollution and help move towards sustainability. I discuss this topic discussing one of the solutions to the topic. I talk about vermicomposting and hook the students to the topic by blindfolding one of the students and having the student put their hand into the vermicompost and find out what is inside the bin. The activity for the presentation is having the students construct a mini vermicompost bin so the students can create their own vermicompost bin on their own time for themselves and others. The activity is wrapped up by asking the students questions about landfills and vocabulary about composting. The students that gets the most questions right get the vermicompost bin. .
Please describe in detail suggestions you have for improving your presentation if it were to be done in the future.
I would go into further detail surrounding the problem of overusing landfills and keep the students interested in the topic by being more energetic towards the topic.
